TPMS light: the warning does not replace the manometer

The NHTSA explains that the TPMS warns when a tire is significantly low; it does not replace the monthly check. It measures with cold tires: at least three hours without driving. It uses the pressure indicated on the vehicle label or manual, not the number of the side of the tire. Axles may require different pressures.

A useful sequence, without guessing pieces

  1. See your model's manual to interpret the right symbol and procedure. Do not follow a generic reboot of the Internet.
  2. If you can do it safely, record the reading of each wheel and compare it with the corresponding specification. Do not copy a universal value.
  3. If the notice returns, you request professional inspection. A photo of the board does not identify the cause on its own or justify changing a sensor.

If you notice a wheel visibly uninflated, damage or unstable driving, stop in a safe place and ask for assistance; do not drive to the workshop to test it.

What information helps the workshop

Prep year, brand and model; indicate when the notice appeared and if there was recent work on wheels. You can send a photo of the label and the readings, taken with the car parked. We do not need personal documents for this query. If you also observe wear, see our workshop website to coordinate appropriate care.

We do not promise a message diagnosis: The decision on repair must be based on the vehicle inspection. Ask for information about what they found, what verification it supports and what it requires prior authorization to work.

English: tire-pressure light - check before resetting

NHTSA recommends monthly pressure checks even with TPMS. Check cold tires after at least three hours parked. Follow the vehicle label or owner's manual - not the pull sidewall number - and respect different front / rear specifications.

Use your model's instructions, record each wheel's reading if safe, and arrange a professional inspection if the warning returns. A dashboard photo to alone cannot diagnose the cause. With visible deflation, damage or unstable handling, stop safely and request assistance rather than driving to test it.

Send the vehicle year, make, model and when the warning appeared. Ask what the inspection found and what work needs your approval. Contact us to coordinate a visit; messaging is not a substitute for inspection.
